Confronting Diversity – Housing Policies for a Truly Inclusive Community


50 years after the passage of the Fair Housing Act, Arlington remains a highly segregated community. Although explicit racial discrimination in housing is no longer commonplace, the legacy of past discriminatory practices combined with today’s economic forces are limiting the opportunities for minorities to find a home in Arlington.

How have we gotten to this point, what are the implications, and what can be done to improve access, inclusion, and opportunity in our community?
