Jay Fisette to Receive the Ellen M. Bozman Award

Jay Fisette served on the Arlington County Board from 1997-2017, including five terms as Board Chair. He championed funding for affordable housing and initiated efforts to create Arlington’s Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance and Live Where You Work Housing Grants. During Mr. Fisette’s tenure Arlington was transformed into one of America’s finest communities and received numerous accolades, including the 2017 National Planning Achievement Award for community-based planning and smart growth.
The 2018 Ellen M. Bozman Award honors his efforts to increase the supply of and to improve the quality of affordable housing in Arlington through leadership, innovation, and effectiveness over time.
The late Ellen M. Bozman was a longtime Arlington County Board member and leader on affordable housing issues. She was a co-founder of the Alliance for Housing Solutions and a member of its Board of Directors.
Jack Cornman to be Honored with Founders’ Award
Jack Cornman, co-founder of the Alliance for Housing Solutions, passed away on June 9, 2018 at the age of 84. He was a dedicated civic activist concerned with preserving housing affordability in Arlington.
The Founders' Award honors Mr. Cornman's legacy of working with AHS to create a community where people of all walks of life are welcome and can afford to live.
